Hospital food - Gayle's experience

Gayle's first dinner experience at Rosepark in Bloemfontein.
It was spaghetti, mince and mixed veg. For Dessert was a baked pudding with custard.
Even though it looked better than the food served at the medi clinic it was apparently very bland and over cooked. Exact local is lekker words ... Ga-poe! LOL

first Breakfast looked scrummy in comparison with Judy's experience. Bacon, scrambled eggs, toast, orange juice and all bran flakes. But looks can be deceiving .... it was "cold". Gayle was so hungry by the time she tasted it, that anything would have tasted good. She was only given her food after her treatment .... 2.5 hours late - Medi Clinic would have skipped the meal all together.

Good old Rosepark ... they have elevenses!!! The cake according to Gayle was a banana bread type thing and it was moist .... so big thumbs up!!!!
Will keep you posted over the next couple of weeks .... no special menu's ... you take what you get which is what makes this blog more interesting ... like going to a B & B and getting to eat whatever the owner/manager thinks tastes nice. LOL

Fedics (the caterers for Rosepark hospital) should give Royal Sechaba a lesson or two in presentation and food.

This is what lunch day two looks like. Check out the flowers in the little vase. Really nice!!!
Gayle says it looks better than the taste though ....one of two things are going to happen, either she's going to lose weight or she's going to die of starvation. Apparently the pumpkin was stringy, beans and mash potatoes and chicken were okay. Well, if you're hungry then anything will do!!! I think it looks scrummy though.

Hospital food - Judy's experience

This was taken at the Welkom Medi Clinic. It was supposed to be a cornish pie with chips and vegetables of the day. The chips tasted like the veg and was steamed. The pie tasted like liver mince with a thick unpalatable pastry on top. Rating out of 10 ? Definately 3!

This is what the mince looked like once the pastry was removed. Totally inedible.
Surprise, surprise look what Breakfast was the next morning!!! Left over "liver" mince from dinner the evening before, blue egg and tomato. This is the food on full diet .... Royal Sechaba/Mnisi needs a new dietician and menu.
Opted to have the oats instead .... no salt or seasoning at all so ended up adding my own. Overall experience was ... I didn't starve, but it was absolutely tasteless and at times bitter. Too much oxo to cover the leftovers for breakfast.
